After almost 14 years, I have left
ISI to become Chief Technology Officer at Nimbis
Services . My new email address is
brian.schott@nimbisservices.com. Stop by and
say hello!
Brian
Schott is a Project Leader at USC Information Sciences
Institute in Arlington, VA. He is a member of the Dynamic
Systems Division where he performs research in embedded
power-aware computing systems, networked sensor systems,
and adaptive/reconfigurable computing. He has been at
ISI since 1997.
Mr.
Schott has particular interest in novel computing
architectures, parallel processing, and distributed
computing. While
at ISI, Mr. Schott has developed a family of FPGA-based
computing systems for high performance applications
and demonstrated them in several Defense application
domains. Most
recently under DARPA funding, his team has developed
a modular power-aware
microsensor platform that spans
a wide operational dynamic power range <1mW to >1W.
Prior
to ISI, Mr. Schott worked at IDA Supercomputing
Research Center where he was a staff member on the Splash 2
development team. Splash 2 was an early FPGA-based reconfigurable
computer. He helped port one of the first high-level
SIMD C compilers (dbC) to an FPGA-based system. Mr. Schott
has also worked at the National Security Agency and a
small company called Major Educational Resources,
which networked Apple-II computers for schools.
Mr.
Schott received his BS CS at the University of Maryland
(UMBC)
in 1995 and his MS CS at George Washington University
(GWU)
in 2002.
